A cottage in the midst

Faraway, a cottage in the midst
Embossed by wild green stalks.
A picture of serenity it paints,
As smoke streams thinly away.
Approach with caution, enter in faith,
an old soul sits anticipating company.
She waits patiently yet eager for your entrance.
Enter and be hosted well,
Agendas are divided, minds not reached-
Yearn your company for life,
While you are eager to visit better.
Depart at your will;
Let not hospitality be repaid with gratuity.
For she owns you not, without your soul.
Empty shell serves no purpose.
Fly and we’ll get by,
With mere memories of merry making.
In deep nights, may every cricket humming
reminds you of the company you had
At the cottage in the midst.
